ANROID VS IOS

Yesterday, my brother asked the differences between iOS and Anroid. I knew some of them but i did not get what the actual difference should i tell him. After that i was little interested to the differences between Anroid and iOS and going through various article i got to know some differences. I m not an expert of them but a learner and interested to the topic. The differences are described here in paragraph.
The smart phone has taken its market in the phone industry. The only two leaders in smart phone operating system are android and iOS. The market occupied by android is 80%. Out of 10 people 8 carry android smart phone as the price differs. The android phones are available at much lesser price. Java is used for android development whereas objective C is used for iOS. The platform for iOS is Xcode which is being used for the application development by the developer. Even android application can be developed using C and C++ with NDK.
The core operation system is in Darwin and it contains system utilities and Mach kernel in iOS whereas Linux kernel is being used that has drivers for all the hardware used. The second layer in iOS is the core services that contain database which is same as in the android devices. There are 4 more layers in android after Linux kernel. The abstraction layer is second layer that is for the hardware support like GPS, Wi-Fi, and Camera. Dalvix Virtual machine is the android runtime which makes the newly created application in android to function. Application framework manages all the activity, views, notification, resources and telephony. At the top, application layer is present which is for all the applications being used or created. In iOS, the 3rd layer is for Open GLES, Core Graphics and Audio etc. Cocoa Touch is the 2nd layer that has UIKit framework and Foundation Framework where all the application runs.
